GOLDEN OLDIES NON STOP IN SOUTH AMERICA

During last sunday 31st of January, Mauricio Diaz Golden Oldies Rugby Representative for South America made a presentation to the Scottish Rugby Clubs together with together with Dave MacDonald President of the European Comittee Golden Oldies and Jim Stevenson President of Scottish Rugby Union on their road show "rugby roots". The idea of the road show it's to bring rugby management to the source; the clubs and players, obtain from them feedback and re-light our rugby, notjust in Scotland also in South America. An agreement was draft to establish cooperation between Scotland and South American Golden Oldies Rugby nations such as Argentina, Chile and the newcomer Brazil which will be hosting the sevens during 2016.

On his own words Mauricio empathized the need of comunication between rugby nations and support betweem them, "we do share common problems, logistics,sponsorships, transport,players, motivation etc" so there is just one route to keep Golden Oldies and rugby growing unification of efforts.

In this opportunity several Rugby Festivals where anounced for South America, becoming the most important:

Argentina Oldies and Golden Oldies Rugby Chile International, both will take place during november 2010.

GOLDEN OLDIES RUGBY CHILE

BACK TO THE ROOTS OF RUGBY

No long ago Mr. Mauricio Diaz in conversation with VULTUR MAGAZINE was refering to the process of returning to a old concept of rugby, "the rugby family" especially for a country like Chile, which is trying to re-set his strategy to promote and develop rugby even more in this long and narrow place.

The rugby family is in need of Golden Oldies Rugby, for a very simple reason, once we stop to play "ripped rugby" for reasons such as work, family or injuries, we loose contact with our team mates and we didn't have an opportunity to meet again, unless somebody try to do it. Golden Oldies Rugby Chile arrived to Chile last  October 2008, after the 17th Golden Oldies World Festival, in Edinburgh city, Scotland. Mr Diaz took part in this event and since then didn't stop until Golden Oldies Rugby Chile started its operations on his own country.

On his own words; " Chile need the Oldies, if you think for a minute, your coach is or will be an Oldie, your team manager, the president of the Chilean Federation FERUCHI, someday will be one too, without Golden Oldies, who will keep rugby alive?"

Oldies are the best feedback for Chilean rugby, re fueling the rugby family at its best.

Golden Oldies Rugby Chile, has arrived to Chile to stay  and develop a long term plan, hopefully with the recognition of FERUCHI Golden Oldies Rugby Chile will grow even more, at the time we have 16 Golden Oldies teams in Chile and I believe this grow will continue despite our logistical problems for promotion. We are investing heavily in going back to the root of rugby and the Chilean Rugby Family.
